I'm using the Windows 11 Style.

on Oct 31, 2021

Hi there,

After installing I configured it to use the centered Windows 10 Start menu style, as you can see in the settings, but besides not centering on all three of my monitors, it still doesn't respect the screen size of each monitor, leaving an excess of the menu invades the screen of the third monitor and in this one it shows the start button in the left corner and not in the middle as configured.

Triple monitor view

Before you ask, this is my system:

AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor 3.20 GHz Processor

RAM installed 32.0 GB (4 x 8GB DDR31600)

Windows 10 Enterprise Edition LTSC Version 21H2

64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Compilation of SO 19044.1288

Windows Experience Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

Installed on 2021/06/21

Monitors: AOC 2217 "1680 x 1050", AOC 24B1W "1920 x 1080", Samsung SA300 "1920 x 1080"

Stat11 0.96 installed over 0.95

PS: PS: Looking closely, I saw that when right-clicking on a program that is already pinned to the Start menu, the software shows the option to pin it again, allowing you to pin two or more icons for the same program to the menu. , making it a real mess, because if you use multiple programs and shortcuts for different parts of the system, you can duplicate shortcuts without realizing it, another downside is that you can't drag a program and pin it in the menu's excess space, as it turns red indicating that it cannot be pinned, wouldn't it be better if it did this every time you tried to pin some program already pinned in the menu so as not to generate duplicates and if it allowed a program to be pinned in this free space?

Start Menu problems

Is there any fix in sight for the truncated menu when having the task bar at the top of the screen

on Nov 01, 2021

This bug was originally marked fixed in RC4/0.95, "Fixed missing separator lines on Win7/Modern UI menus sometimes", but it's only a partial fix.

Previous behavior: The separator would appear in the wrong place, and correct itself when the user mouses over the menu, leaving a visual artifact to the right.

Current behavior: The separator still appears in the wrong place, but corrects itself once the menu finishes rendering. It still leaves an artifact. This is a definite improvement, but still noticeably awkward.

Ideal behavior: The separator only ever appears in the correct place, and leaves no visual artifact.

Video showing current behavior (10% speed):

Tested in Start11 v0.96 running on Windows 11 Version 21H2 (22000.282).

Quoting lwetzel,

Having an issue.  This was happening in 0.95 also.  The first time I click on Start it comes up with a page I have made and correctly.  Pick an application to run then click on Start and it is the alphabetic list of applications.  I made a short Snaget but don't know how to get it to you.

Which menu style are you using?

Maybe this link will show the issue I was describing.

With the enabled Start11 search there is the All programs menu item overlaps last used apps list in the Modern and Windows 7 styles.

And it would be nice to have feature of menu height changing in Modern and Windows 7 styles.

I am experiencing an issue with Start11 in which the Start Menu will open from the middle of the screen, approximately half way up.  I have the start button on my left monitor in the windows task bar, as well as on my right monitor on my ObjectDock.  When I start my PC, the menu opens as expected, right above the start button that I use to open the menu, then for no apparent reason it will start opening half way up the screen.

The start menu still opens on the screen that has the start menu used to trigger it (IE Left = Taskbar, Right = ObjectDock,) but in the wrong position. (Image below.)

Opening the Start11 Configuration utility and setting the "Use Start11" off then on again has no effect.  I need to reboot in order for the menu to move back to its original position.

I have 2 LG UltraGear 32" monitors, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB card.

My left monitor is the primary monitor and is connected via DisplayPort and my right monitor is the secondary monitor and connected via HDMI.  The resolution of both monitors is 1920x1080 and the scaling is 100%.

The windows taskbar is on the left(primary) monitor and my 3 object docks are on my right(secondary) monitor. Start11 is only on 1 of the docks.  The issue was occurring prior to the install of ObjectDock, so I don't think it's related to that application.

This is a fresh install of Windows 11.  It's not an upgrade from windows 10, I wiped my PC and installed the OS fresh. This was not an issue when I was running Win10 on this PC.

The video driver, installed hours before Start11 was the most updated one from NVIDIA .  I also updated the "Generic PnP Monitor" to the latest LG UltraGear drivers from their website.

In addition, I have ObjectDock/Star11 on my HP Spectre laptop as well as my Surface Pro.  Those 2 devices, also running windows 11, do not experience this issue.

I hope this gives you some useful information to help track down the bug.
