Please let us know
Published on November 24, 2016 By Neil Banfield In WindowBlinds

If you have compatibility issues with WindowBlinds and an application or game, please do let us know in this thread so we can investigate it and hopefully resolve the problem.

Please make sure you are running the latest version of WindowBlinds first and that the problem exists with a theme included with WindowBlinds vs a downloaded one.

Please provide as much detail as you can, screenshots of the problem, information on the application itself, how to reproduce the problem and if possible dmp files from any crashes.

The information on the about WindowBlinds page and information on your setup would be helpful too.

Oh that's cute that you guys think that they care.  After 6 months I kind of accepted that they weren't fixing the product.

VC is working fine for me with the latest beta. Thanks.

I am now having issues with a Windows 10 App Store app called JW Library. I can't work out where the path is to exclude it from being skinned.

Here's what you need but be prepared for frustration. You have to take ownership of the folder and each time there's an update a new folder for the app will be created so you'll need to add the app again. Thankfully I haven't encountered a Metro / WSA app that I've had a problem with with WB, yet... I was tempted to exclude Edge and stuff myself but what a bother and I can live with how they're currently handled. I appreciate how WB can often decide to just leave an app entirely alone rather than attempting something and it going wrong.

I did forget to point out that for some reason WindowFX doesn't like it when I drag Edge around my desktop, but it's not the end of the world.

In other news, Thunderbird (version 60) has gone full Metro / WSA (as in look not in install location) and so is now completely incompatible with Windowblinds. It does keep the colour-scheme when it's ignored in settings though but that's normal Windows behaviour I think?

With the latest WB (10.74) VLC media player is still buggy: the right and bottom edges draw with artificats (black lines in my case), and on resizing the vlc window the artifacts start multiplying in the areas I mention above. Excluding vlc from wb skinning fixes the problem, but I'd love to finally have the app working correctly with WB.

Windowblinds if virtually unusable in the current fast-track build of Windows 10.  Cannot use any theme/skin other than Windows default.

From what I understand, VLC has its own skin engine which I believe the reason why its not always working properly with Windowblinds theme.

I checked it the day it was released, Valkrey, I see no problems thus far

You are going to want to make certain you are using the beta for WB 10.74 from your account page:

I did not know that a beta was available, that's what I get for not looking at my account page.  I'll be installing and checking this tonight.  Thank you.
